Pricing questions, answered
When do I actually need a Digital Product Passport?
Batteries come first — mandatory from February 2027 under the EU Battery Regulation — and other ESPR product groups follow in waves. Starting now means you're ready before the deadline finds you.
What is the Pilot tier?
A 30-day, up-to-2-passport trial so you can prove the workflow on a couple of real products. It converts to a Starter subscription afterwards. Book a pilot and we'll set you up.
Can I change tiers later?
Yes — upgrade anytime (the higher rate applies immediately); downgrades take effect at the end of your committed term. The +250 passport top-up (Growth and Scale) covers a temporary overflow, but for sustained growth moving up a tier is better value.
What counts as a 'passport'?
One published Digital Product Passport for one product model/SKU. Per-unit serialisation (e.g. individual battery units) is included.
Which passports count toward my plan's limit?
Your limit is the size of your catalog — the total number of published passports. ACTIVE, RECALLED and DECOMMISSIONED passports all count; recalling or decommissioning a product does not free up space. Only DRAFTs (work-in-progress passports that haven't been published) are excluded.
What contract terms do you offer?
Plans are billed monthly on a minimum committed term — 1 year (standard) or 3 years for a lower monthly rate (the discount scales by plan, up to 20%). Both are self-serve: pick the term with the toggle above and check out directly. You pay the monthly rate for the committed term, after which it rolls to month-to-month and you can cancel any time; during the committed term it can't be cancelled early. Need custom Enterprise terms? Talk to our team.
Is OpenDPP's eIDAS seal advanced or qualified?
Every plan includes an eIDAS advanced electronic seal — a per-tenant ECDSA key, held in software custody (encrypted at rest in your vault), that proves a passport's integrity and origin. A qualified electronic seal is the higher eIDAS tier and carries a stronger legal presumption; under the Regulation it requires a certificate issued by a Qualified Trust Service Provider (QTSP). We don't market our managed seal as qualified — for a qualified seal, bring your own QTSP certificate.
Can I use my own signing key or certificate (BYOK)?
Yes, on any plan. Upload your own certificate and signing key, and your passports are sealed under your own key and identity — the key is held encrypted in your tenant vault (AES-256-GCM, per-tenant). If that certificate is a qualified one from a trust service provider, your passports then carry an advanced electronic seal bound to your qualified identity certificate — the seal stays advanced because we sign in software (a qualified eIDAS seal additionally requires a qualified seal-creation device on the EU Trusted List). Prefer us to run it? The Managed eIDAS seal add-on sets up and maintains a dedicated, identity-verified advanced seal for you (a one-off setup plus an annual renewal, billed separately). Either way, every passport is cryptographically sealed and publicly verifiable.
How does Enterprise pricing work?
Enterprise is custom: unlimited passports, SSO/SAML, custom SLAs and a dedicated or region-specific node, priced to your volume and requirements. Talk to sales.
